16th Annual Shiparrested Members’ Conference

As the tradition goes, a vote was cast by the attending members of the 2018 conference in Malaga for this year’s venue. Our Maltese members won the vote as the 2019, 16th Annual Members’ Conference hosts. Following the traditional format, the conference will open with a welcome cocktail reception on Thursday, 20 June at  The Upper Barrakka Gardens overlooking the stunning Grand Harbour of Valletta. Friday’s work day will be begin at The Phoenicia Malta Hotel for our annual conference filled with hot topic panel discussions, jurisdictional updates, and as always, the Strangest Arrest of the Year panel contest for a bottle of Welsh Whiskey! A Lunch at The Phoenix Restaurant and networking coffee breaks will allow for members old and new to connect and catch up. The day will close with a short tour of the medieval city of Mdina and dinner at Palazzo de Piro with welcome drinks on the balcony. Saturday, 22 June, the conference will come to a close with an optional half day tour of Valletta including a visit to the exquisite St John’s Cathedral and lunch at The Chophouse where members can become acquainted in a more casual setting (pre-registration required).
