Arbitration

Besides the legislative framework governing the field of arbitration in Malta, which framework contains a number of international conventions such as the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration (First Schedule to the Arbitration Act) and the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (Second Schedule to the Arbitration Act), there are a number of factors which make Malta an ideal venue for the conduct of arbitration cases, particularly its geographical location and the fact that once an award is registered with the Centre, it constitutes an executive title and can be enforced as a judgment.

We regularly assist clients from a wide range of sectors, be it for assisting with disputes through arbitration or for obtaining the recognition of a foreign arbitration awards in Malta.
